🧠 TCS NQT Application & Exam Experience

  • 📅 Applied on: Feb 20
  • 📝 Exam Date: March 21 (Morning Slot)
  • 📍 Center: TCS iON Digital Zone, Vijayawada

⚡ My Preparation

Honestly speaking 😅

  • I was weak in aptitude
  • Didn’t prepare much initially

👉 Just 3 days before exam:

  • Revised basic aptitude (percentages, discounts)
  • Watched YouTube tutorials
  • Revised coding concepts

🧪 Exam Experience

  • ⏰ Time: 9:00 AM – 12:10 PM
  • Aptitude → Attempted what I knew
  • Coding:
    • Q1 → All test cases passed ✅
    • Q2 → ~3 test cases passed

👉 I had zero expectation of getting shortlisted

📩 Interview Shortlist

  • 📅 Got mail on: April 6
  • 📅 Interview Date: April 9
  • 📍 Location: KL University, Vijayawada

🧠 My Interview Preparation

👉 As soon as I got the mail:

  • Created resume quickly
  • Focused only on:
    • My projects
    • My skills
  • Watched interview experiences

Interviewers mostly ask from your resume

🏢 Interview Day Experience

  • Reached at 11 AM
  • Afternoon batch → Started at 2 PM

🔄 Interview Process

👉 Panel Structure:

  • TR + MR (combined)
  • Then HR round

👉 If you fail TR/MR → eliminated ❌
👉 If cleared → HR round ✅

💻 Technical Round (TR Questions)

Since I mentioned Python, they asked:

🐍 Python Questions

  • What is Python?
  • Variables & Data Types (write on paper)
  • Reverse a string (normal + optimal)
  • Even/Odd (with and without modulus)
  • Largest number in array
  • What is a function? (syntax)
  • Difference between function & method
  • Explain OOPS

🚀 Projects Discussion

👉 I mentioned 3 projects
👉 They asked me to explain first 2 projects in detail

🧠 Managerial Round (MR Questions)

💻 Technical + Situational

  • Rate yourself in C (I said 6/10)
  • Write:
    • int, float, string
  • What is:
    • Structure
    • Union

🔧 Git & GitHub Questions

  • What is Git?
  • What is GitHub?
  • Git branch command
  • What is git status?
  • How did you use Git in projects?

🧠 Managerial Questions

  • If another company offers double salary?
  • Long-term goals?
  • Why TCS?
  • TCS vs Microsoft (for another candidate)
  • Do you have any questions?

⏱️ Duration: 35–45 minutes

✅ HR Round Experience

👉 After 5 mins → shortlisted for HR

👉 HR was very friendly 😄

Questions:

  • Tell me about yourself
  • Show certificates
  • How do you handle bad situations?
  • Job preferences
  • Availability

⏱️ Duration: ~10 minutes

💡 My Tips to Crack TCS Digital

🔥 1. Focus on Resume

👉 Whatever you mention → they WILL ask

🔥 2. Be Strong in Projects

👉 Explain clearly
👉 Don’t bluff

🔥 3. Practice Basics

  • Python
  • SQL
  • OOPS

🔥 4. Communication is KEY

  • Maintain eye contact 👀
  • Smile 🙂
  • Be confident

🔥 5. Be Honest

👉 If you don’t know:

“I’m not sure, but I can try”

👉 I didn’t expect shortlist
👉 But with basic preparation + confidence → I cleared
